Throwback Thursday- Refi Mania!

Over the past week I kept hearing that we're experiencing Refi Mania, so I wanted to find out- what is this Mania, and is this a new phenomenon?

What I found is that Refi Mania was first identified in 1998, and was explained to the world with this article from Realty Times that year:

To see that the country rallied around “LOWEST” rates at an avg. of 6.5% and that they are at 4.00% now goes to show you how really low they are!  6.5% is not that far from happening again, and it is important to take advantage of the opportunity we have in the existing Refi Mania Market..
